Can you build your own home screen for an LG TV?
Yes. Hugge-TV is a custom webOS home screen I built for my LG OLED C1. It brings together streaming apps, Xbox and other shortcuts. The interface runs as an app on the TV; a separate Raspberry Pi opens it when the TV turns on.

What runs on the TV?
The interface uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript. LG’s service API opens installed apps and the Xbox HDMI input. I navigate with the remote control and save favourites locally on the TV.
What does the Raspberry Pi do?
A separate Node.js script monitors the TV’s power state and opens Hugge-TV. The Pi handles automatic launch; the interface and shortcuts run on the TV. It does more than a page of bookmarks in the TV browser.
How does it compare with LG’s home screen?
Hugge-TV focuses on what I actually use. It does not replace the operating system, streaming services or subscriptions. The project uses Developer Mode and the TV has not been rooted. Developer Mode needs to be kept active.
Does it work on every LG model?
I have not verified that. I use it on my own LG OLED C1. Its older web engine needed layout adjustments and testing on the actual TV. A working desktop preview does not establish compatibility with another model.
Where can I find it?
The project page explains the build and links to the source code. This is a personal project rather than a finished consumer product with support for every TV model.
